Little Bruce comes down for breakfast, rubbing his sleepy eyes. His mother looks at him and asks, “Did you do your chores?”
“Not yet,” Bruce mumbles.
His mother crosses her arms. “Well, until you finish them, you won’t be getting any breakfast.”
Bruce sighs but heads outside to complete his chores. First, he goes to feed the chickens, but he's feeling a little grumpy. As he tosses them their feed, he gives one of the hens a little kick.
Next, he goes to feed the cows. Still irritated, he gives one of them a nudge with his foot as well.
Finally, he heads over to the pigs, and feeling even more annoyed, he gives one a small tap with his foot.
Bruce then walks back inside, hoping his mother has forgotten about the chores. But as soon as he steps into the kitchen, his mother is standing there with her hands on her hips.
"I saw that, young man. No breakfast for you!" she declares.
Bruce is shocked. “What?! Why?”
His mother points out the window. “I saw you kick the chicken—no eggs for you. You kicked the cow—no milk for you. And you kicked the pig—no bacon for you.”
Just then, Bruce’s dad walks in, yawns, and accidentally stubs his toe on the kitchen table. Frustrated, he gives the table leg a little kick.
Bruce grins at his mom and whispers, "You wanna tell him, or should I?"
