A neighborhood kid was looking for ways to earn money. He knocked on the door of one house, and when the man answered, the boy asked,

"Hey mister, got any odd jobs I can do?"

The man looked him up and down, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
"Well," he said, "my porch out back could really use a coat of paint. Think you're up for it?"

The kid grinned. "Absolutely! I got this. Do you have the paint and brushes?"

"Sure do. Everything’s in the garage. Just be careful with the edges."

The man handed him the supplies and went back inside. Ten minutes later—just ten—the kid knocked on the door again, panting like he’d just run a marathon.

“All done, mister!” he said proudly. “Even gave it two coats!”

The man blinked. “That fast? Are you sure you painted the entire porch?”

“Yup,” the boy nodded. “And, just so you know, it’s not a Porsche, it’s a Tesla… but it’s looking real shiny now.”

The man stared at him in silence, his eye twitching ever so slightly as he mentally calculated the detailing bill.

The kid just smiled, holding out his hand. “That’ll be ten bucks. Fifteen if you’re tipping for sparkle.”
