The mother of a problem child visits the psychiatrist. After an hour’s session, she was advised by the psychiatrist, “You are far too upset and worried about your son. I suggest you take a break, relax a little. A good way to do that is to get some exercise—perhaps go for long walks.”

The mother nods, considering the advice. “You mean I should take my son for long walks?”

The psychiatrist shakes his head. “No, no—just you. Preferably somewhere very quiet. Like a beach. Or a forest. Or… you know, just keep walking.”

The mother looks at him suspiciously. “And when should I come back?”

The psychiatrist leans back in his chair. “Oh, don’t rush. A month? Two? Maybe three. Let’s see how it goes.”

The mother frowns. “But what about my son?”

The psychiatrist sighs, rubbing his temples. “Lady, I’m trying to save you first. That kid is a lost cause.”
