One evening, a father overheard his son saying his prayers. The little boy was kneeling at his bed saying, "God bless Mommy, Daddy, and Grammy. Goodbye Grampa." The father thought the wording sounded a little strange and immediately rushed into the room, concerned.

"Son," the father said gently, "did you just say 'Goodbye Grampa'?"

The boy looked up, puzzled. "Yeah, I did. What's wrong?"

The father, trying to stay calm but obviously concerned, said, "Well, that sounds a little... final, don't you think?"

The boy tilted his head and explained, "I’m just saying goodbye to him for now. He said he was going to visit Heaven soon, so I thought I should give him a proper send-off."

The father, still confused, asked, "Your Grampa said he was going to Heaven?"

The little boy nodded solemnly. "Yep, he told me he was 'done with this world' and was going to hang out with all his old friends. He said he'd 'see us later'... but not for a long time."

The father, now sweating a bit, asked, "And when did he tell you that?"

"At dinner," the boy replied matter-of-factly. "When he dropped his fork and said, 'Well, that's it for me, folks. I’ve had a good run, but the gravy train is over.'"

The father sighed with relief, chuckling nervously. "Okay, son, well, I think we should maybe let Grampa enjoy his dinner first before we start making plans for his trip."

The boy, looking up at him with wide eyes, said, "But Dad, he looked so excited. He said he's ready for his 'next great adventure.'"

The father laughed, shaking his head. "Alright, but let’s just not rush things, okay? We’ll keep the goodbyes for a little later."

The boy nodded, but then added, "I think Grampa’s been hanging out with you too much. He’s starting to sound like you when you’re trying to avoid doing dishes!"
