Little Freddie is crying, and his mother asks him what’s the matter.

“My turtle is dead, Mommy,” the little boy says sorrowfully, holding the turtle out to her.

The mother, wanting to console him, smiles gently and says, “Oh, sweetheart, don’t be sad! We’ll give your turtle a beautiful funeral. We’ll invite your friends, say a few nice words, and after, we’ll have cake and ice cream.”

Freddie sniffles. “Really? Ice cream too?”

“Yes, of course! Your turtle deserves a proper send-off.”

Freddie wipes his tears and starts looking a little more excited about the idea. But just as his mother is about to take the turtle, the little creature suddenly twitches… then pokes its head out!

Freddie’s eyes widen. “Mommy! He’s alive!”

His mother, now holding the miraculously resurrected turtle, pauses for a moment and then sighs.

“…Well, should we kill it?”
