Hymie Goldberg and his friend Moishe are having a drink in the clubhouse between races. "A weird thing happened to me a few years ago," says Hymie. "It was the seventh day of the Passover holiday, and I was walking down the street, feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything. You know, family, the meal, the prayers... just a lot going on. And then I see this old man sitting on a park bench, looking just as worn out as I feel."

Moishe raises an eyebrow. "What happened? Did you talk to him?"

Hymie takes a sip of his drink, then continues. "I went over to him and asked, 'Excuse me, sir, are you okay? You look like you’ve had a long day.' He looks up at me, smiles, and says, 'You think you’ve got problems? I’ve been waiting for a bus for 40 years!'"

Moishe bursts out laughing. "A bus? What do you mean?"

Hymie leans in, lowering his voice. "He says, 'Every day, I sit here and wait. They promised me the 'bus of destiny,' but it never comes! I’ve been waiting for my whole life!'"

Moishe laughs even harder, almost choking on his drink. "And what did you say to him?"

Hymie shrugs. "I told him, 'Listen, buddy, if you’ve been waiting for 40 years, maybe it's time to get a taxi!'"

Moishe wipes tears from his eyes, still chuckling. "So what happened next?"

Hymie grins, "Well, the old man looks at me, gives a big sigh, and says, 'I thought you were going to tell me I need to take a different route!'"

Moishe is doubled over with laughter now. "That’s one way to solve life’s problems, Hymie. Just take a taxi and skip the bus stop!"

Hymie shrugs with a smile, "Hey, sometimes you just have to get where you're going without waiting for destiny to arrive... or at least, that's what I told him. He didn’t look too happy, but I haven’t seen him at the bus stop since."
