Annie, 6 years old, gets home from school. She had her first family planning lesson that day.
Her mother, very interested, asks, "How did it go?"
"I died of shame!" Annie exclaims.
"Why? What happened?" her mother asks, concerned.
Annie crosses her arms, pouts, and says, "Well, first, the teacher said that babies grow in a mommy’s tummy."
Her mother nods. "That’s right, sweetie. That’s how it works."
Annie shakes her head dramatically. "But then she said that when the baby is ready, it comes out from down there!"
Her mother chuckles, "Yes, that’s true."
Annie stomps her foot. "Mom, you don’t understand! I was the only one in class who thought they came out through the belly button!"
Her mother tries to hold back laughter as Annie continues, "And then, to make it worse, Jimmy raised his hand and asked, ‘But what if the baby gets lost on the way out?’"
At that point, her mother bursts into laughter while Annie groans, "School is embarrassing! I’m never going back!"
