The officers drove to the street and saw a small group standing on the corner, chatting away.

The rookie, eager to prove himself, jumped out of the cruiser, put his hands on his hips, and in his most authoritative voice, shouted, “Alright, you lot, break it up! Move along!”

The group looked at him in confusion.

His partner sighed, rolled down the window, and said, “Rookie… this is a bus stop.”

The bus arrived a moment later, and the confused commuters, shaking their heads, got on board—probably wondering if they were part of some bizarre prank.

The rookie turned bright red, shuffled back to the cruiser, and muttered, “I think they got the message.”

His partner just chuckled and said, “Kid, this is gonna be a long shift.”
