A man knocked at his Bedouin friend's door to ask him a favor:
"I want you to lend me four thousand dinars because I have a debt to pay. Can you do that for me?"

The friend asked his wife to bring the money, and she quickly fetched the bag of dinars. He handed it to his friend with a warm smile.

A few months later, the same man returned, knocking on the door once again. "My dear friend, I find myself in trouble again. Could you lend me another four thousand dinars?"

Without hesitation, the Bedouin turned to his wife and said, "Bring the money again." She did as she was told, though she raised an eyebrow.

Months passed, and once again, the man knocked on the door. This time, he seemed a little embarrassed. "My friend," he began hesitantly, "I know I have asked a lot, but I need four thousand dinars one more time."

The Bedouin turned to his wife. "Bring the lantern."

The borrower was confused. "Lantern? What do we need a lantern for?"

The Bedouin shrugged. "I just wanted to see if you are still the same man, or if you're just a shadow that only appears when there's money involved!"

The borrower stood speechless, realizing he had taken advantage of his friend's kindness.

The Bedouin laughed and clapped him on the back. "Relax! You’re still my friend. But this time, how about repaying the first two loans before asking for a third?"

The borrower grinned sheepishly. "Fair enough. But can I at least borrow the lantern? I think I need to shed some light on my financial decisions!"
