A 6-year-old boy was in the market with his 4-year-old sister. Suddenly, the boy noticed that his sister was lagging behind. He stopped and looked back.

His sister was standing in front of a giant pile of colorful lollipops with her mouth wide open and eyes sparkling like she had just discovered treasure.

The boy sighed, walked back to her, and said, "Come on, we don’t have time for this!"

His little sister, still mesmerized, whispered, "But… but… LOOK at them! They’re so pretty!"

The boy rolled his eyes. "Yeah, and so is the moon, but you don’t see me trying to lick it!"

She turned to him, pouted, and said, "But I need one!"

He crossed his arms. "No, you want one. Big difference. Mom said no candy."

She stomped her foot. "Okay, then I want to ‘need’ one!"

The boy groaned and looked around, hoping for some backup, but their mom was still at the vegetable section, completely unaware of the crisis unfolding.

Then, his little sister suddenly grabbed his hand, put on the biggest, saddest puppy-dog eyes, and whispered, "Please? Just one? I’ll be your best friend forever!"

The boy smirked. "You’re already my sister. You have to be my best friend forever."

She squinted at him. "Fine. Then I won’t be your best sister anymore!"

He gasped dramatically. "You wouldn’t dare!"

She folded her arms and turned away. "Watch me!"

The boy sighed, then had an idea. "Alright, alright. I’ll make a deal. You put the lollipop back, and I’ll let you have my turn on the swing at home today."

She gasped. "The big swing?!"

He nodded. "The big swing. But only if you don’t tell Mom I bribed you."

Her tiny fingers hovered over the lollipops for a second… then, with a deep sigh of defeat, she let go and turned away. "Fine. But next time, I’m picking the bribe!"

They walked back to their mom, and as they reached her, their mom smiled and said, "You two were gone for a while. What were you up to?"

The boy grinned. "Oh, nothing, just negotiating international candy deals."

His sister smirked. "And I won’t confirm or deny any allegations."
