Week after week, the man came to his pastor with a big problem.
"When I go to bed, I can't sleep because I'm afraid of monsters under my bed. I know it's silly, but I can't help it."
The pastor listened carefully and said, "Well, I think we can work on this. I'll pray for you, and we'll start by having a little talk with God about it. Let’s see if we can ease your fear."
The man nodded, grateful, but still unsure. "Okay, pastor, I'll try it, but what if it doesn't work? I'm just so scared!"
The next week, the man returned, looking more confident.
"Pastor, I did what you suggested. I prayed, and I asked God for help. And you know what? I haven’t been afraid of monsters under my bed since!"
The pastor smiled. "That's wonderful! So, what made the difference?"
The man grinned and said, "Well, it turns out, I just needed to tell the monsters under my bed that if they didn’t leave, they were going to have to talk to God about it! Now, whenever I’m worried, I just tell myself, 'If anyone’s going to be scared of something, it’s those monsters, not me!'"
The pastor chuckled. "So, you turned the tables on them?"
"Exactly," the man replied, "Now they’re afraid to mess with me. I’ve got the big guy on my side!"
