The school ends and Erica quickly puts her books in the bag and runs out of the class. Today is a special day. Erica is very excited. She runs home and thinks about her uncle. She spoke with him on the phone earlier in the week, and he promised her that today would be the day.
She bursts through the door, dropping her school bag, and calls out, “Mom, where’s Uncle Tim?”
Her mom, smiling knowingly, replies, “He’s in the living room, Erica.”
With a joyful squeal, Erica runs to the living room. There, sitting with a big grin, is her Uncle Tim. But wait — he’s sitting with... a giant, inflatable unicorn?!
“Uncle Tim! What’s with the unicorn?” Erica asks, eyes wide with excitement.
Uncle Tim leans back, chuckling. “Well, Erica, you said you wanted to ride a unicorn when you grew up, so I figured, why wait? I’ve got this inflatable one, and I’m here to give you the ride of your life!”
Erica's face lights up with disbelief. “You really got me a unicorn?!”
“Well, not exactly the magical kind, but she sure floats,” he winks, “and besides, who says unicorns can't be fun?”
Erica jumps on the unicorn, laughing uncontrollably, “This is better than anything I imagined!”
Her mom walks in and sees the chaos. She raises an eyebrow and says, “I should have known. Tim, you and your ‘special’ ideas. But at least she’s happy... and you might want to make sure that thing is properly inflated before it floats away.”
Uncle Tim winks again and says, “You think that’s special? Wait until she’s older and I introduce her to the hovercraft.”
