Jerry was on his deathbed and gasped pitifully to his wife, Karen, "I have one last request, dear."

"Of course, Jerry," his wife said softly, holding his frail hand.

"Six months after I die," Jerry said, struggling to breathe, "I want you to marry Bob."

Karen’s eyes widened in shock. "Bob? But… but he’s your best friend!"

Jerry weakly nodded. "I know… and he owes me fifty bucks. This is the only way I’ll get it back!"

Karen stared at him for a moment, then sighed. "Unbelievable, Jerry. Even on your deathbed, you're still thinking about money."

Jerry gave a weak smile. "Well, if I can’t take it with me, at least I can make sure Bob doesn’t keep it."

And with that, he closed his eyes—either in peace or because he knew Karen was about to smack him.
